Living with Hope during the Coronavirus

Passage: Isaiah 43:18, 19, 2 Corinthians 10:5, Psalms 40:5, Isaiah 43:20, 21, Romans 8:24

We may be tempted to lose hope because of the COVID 19 crisis, and the death and economic disaster it has created, but that should not be the case. After all we are told in Is. 43:18, 19, “Forget what happened! Don’t think about the past. I am creating something new. There it is! Do you see it? I have put roads in deserts, streams in thirsty lands.”

It would be so easy at this time to only think about how we are going to escape the present situation. The problem in just leaving our present circumstances is that it provides no real solution of learning how to live with hope. Dr. Charles R. Ringma has stated, “If we live in hope, we have a future. If hope dies, then the future dies with it. The person who is without hope can only live with the legacy of the past and the circumstances of the present.”
